Close to a year ago, I Zoomed in for an Alabama CPS Community Meeting that put a name on the program I was working towards to encourage our consumers here at the Mental Health Center to become actively involved in their own recovery. Pat Deegan was the speaker. She brought it all in the form of Personal Medicine. I picked up the phone and VOILA, a little less than a year later, I'm a happy camper and excited to share! They've essentially done it for me. LIFE is GOOD! There is a better way to provide mental health services, and it begins with the persons we serve and meeting them where they are at, with the goal of actively involving them in their own recovery. That is my passion and what drives me to do the work I do at CCC.
