From a young age, I aspired to be just like my mother, a beautiful soul and true angel on earth, devoted to helping others. Her name is Luz, which means "light" in Spanish, and fittingly, my parents named me Luz as well. Like her, my greatest passion is to serve others and be a light in their lives.

Through my personal journey, I've learned to embrace and share my truth, knowing that our stories hold the power to inspire and uplift. You never know how your words or experiences might change someone's life. Our stories aren't meant to be kept silent…they are meant to be shared. I've had the privilege of doing just that through my work in the peer support field and as a trainer for several mental health awareness programs. Becoming a Certified Personal Medicine Coach has deepened my understanding that many of us already practice our own "Personal Medicine", which at times are the things we do naturally to support our well-being and recovery, without even realizing it.

My journey has been shaped by several health challenges, and through it all, I've come to believe that while medication can be helpful, true healing really starts from within. It wasn't until I began working through my health struggles that I realized I'd been living with anxiety for years. Looking back, I can see the small things I did to feel better, long before I had the words to name what I was feeling.Today, my "Personal Medicine" includes journaling, swimming at my local gym, and coloring. These simple practices have made a big difference in how I manage anxiety and stress. One of the most powerful forms of healing for me, has been spending time with God. Each morning, as I sit down to read a devotion, journal and pray, I find a sense of peace and clarity that grounds me and helps me start my day with purpose.
