I have lived experience of bipolar disorder.
After a period of isolation due to worsening symptoms, I encountered peer support, which became an important starting point for my recovery journey.
In 2014, I founded Peer Support Group Zai.
Building on this work, I established PeerWell, a nonprofit organization focused on mental health co-creation, in 2025, and I promote recovery-oriented community activities in Japan.
As a CPMC, I value an approach that helps people notice the strengths and sources of support already present in their daily lives.
Rather than “fixing” problems, I aim to walk alongside others and think together about what supports their recovery.
I believe recovery grows through everyday choices, relationships, and mutual respect.
