In 2025 I encountered Personal Medicine and it immediately shifted how I think about care. I brought the ideas into my work at the psych rehab program and then applied them at Step By Step, where I watched people begin to discover their strengths, gain confidence, and take meaningful steps forward on their own terms. Having lived with anxiety and other mental health for most of my life, I recognized many of the small routines and habits that steady someone through hard moments - the same kinds of practices Personal Medicine highlights. That recognition fueled my commitment to help others find and use their own practical tools for healing. I'm proud to be part of Step By Step. I believe better mental health care starts with listening to the person in front of you and building from what already helps them. That belief is what keeps me doing this work every day.
