In 1995 I wrote a keynote address titled, Recovery as a Journey of the Heart.  Eventually the paper was published.  Now Caroline Fei-Yeng Kwok has translated excerpts into Chinese.  Caroline is the author of Free to Fly which is the story of her recovery after a diagnosis of bipolar disorder.

Patricia Deegan, PhD,

Survivor of schizophrenia.

Chosen from excerpts of her article,

(Recovery as a Journey of the Heart ) (翻譯)

“When I was eighteen….

但這精神科醫生沒有看到    the doctors did not see

真正的我,     the real me,

Only my illness.

Friends did not give up on me.

Yes.

The doctors opinion made me very angry.

I then decided to be a doctor,

攻讀個學位 . to have a degree.

Spirituality has helped me a lot.

I know my life goals

Recovery is an attitude.
