I am thrilled to let you know that Kristine Vuocolo from Transitions and Peer Support Programs Human Services, Inc. has pioneered the use of the CommonGround Web Application with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and co-occurring intellectual developmental disorders. Many thanks to Community Care Behavioral Health for supporting and encouraging this amazing innovation. Some thought people with intellectual development disorders and co-occuring mental health conditions could not use CommonGround to amplify their voice and get the treatment that was right for them.

Kristine Vuocolo didn't let a label eclipse her conviction that folks with autism and other developmental disabilities could benefit from CommonGround. She looked past the label, to the person.  Not surprisingly she found that folks found ingenious ways to use CommonGround and all of it's self-care resources.  During our monthly CommonGround National Webinar, Kristine told the story of this breakthrough.  Please take 15-minutes to listen to an amazing champion who would not take - "They Can't Do It" - for an answer:
